Jobs and the Economy

The lifeblood of the American economy is crude oil. It is the earth’s ultimate renewable energy source. But it’s not just gas and oil, it’s plastics, it’s rubber, it’s fertilizers… it’s our modern way of life. Without it, our country collapses and we are back in the 1800’s with horse and buggy.

And that’s exactly where my opponent, Norma Torres, wants us to wind up! She wants to do away with the gas in your car, the gas in your stove (H.R. 1615) and any other gas appliance in your house. She wants everything to be electric and plugged into a grid that is unable to handle what we already have. It will destroy our country! This war against crude oil (the “Green New Deal”) has nothing to do with the environment and everything to do with transferring massive wealth and power to enemies of the United States.

California suffers from incompetent leaders like Norma Torres who have chased businesses and employers out of the state. We have the highest taxes and the least to show for it. Instead of working to stimulate the inherent creativity of the people of the Golden State, our leaders enact legislation like AB5 which rips the heart out of gig workers, killing small businesses and entrepreneurs. At the very least, we should eliminate taxes paid on tips and Social Security and property taxes should be cut in half for those over 65 years of age.

The heartbeat of our nation, and our State, is a free economy. The biggest impediment is government involvement. When competition thrives, the people prosper. Personal freedom and free enterprise are the engines that drive everything else. It’s that simple. Lower the tax burden and eliminate government over-regulation and we will bounce back quicker than it takes to pack up and move to Texas!

People have to wake up! We cannot fix this country with the same folks in office who created the problems! We MUST have new leadership! This will require the personal resolve of every voter to ignore the media rhetoric and vote for Donald Trump.

But he can’t do it alone, we also need to vote for those who will support him as he tries to fix the mess we are in. My mandate in Congress will be to work with Federal, State and local governments to create a “business friendly” environment throughout the District. To that end, every manufacturer, every business, every union, every city and every voter should be behind this race!

Businesses supply jobs, jobs pay the taxes and the dues that fund the pensions and the payrolls for the cities, the first responders and the educators! Business drives everything! And I want the 35th to become a magnet for businesses!
